Dear colleague,

How many times have your students got the following simple statement wrong?

"Ich bitte Sie, mir die Dokumente zu mailen..."     -->       "I  please you to mail me the documents."

Just in case this happens again - let your students (not under 16 years of age, please) have a look at this flyer picked up from a London phone box.

You shouldn't have any problem making it clear to your students what  the verb to please really means...

BTW: The lady should be out of business by now anyway as the flyer was picked up in the  early nineties... so no need to sue us for whatever...
